Beth is someone I trust to follow through and get the good work of NCSSM done, whether the task be joyful or difficult. She has fielded some very complicated tasks during her time as Dean of Mathematics, and has done so with professionalism and grace. I know if I need Beth's assistance or input, she will give me her time and assistance gladly. Beth is a lovely person and a lovely colleague and I'm very happy to nominate her for this recognition.

Jennifer Betz is always so positive about her efforts in ensuring all students are set up not only to graduate from NCSSM but to get the best out of their time here. She is invested in their overall success and even when someone is reaching out to her to show frustration, she is professional and focused on serving all NCSSM students. I don't know how she is able to get all of the students their required classes as well as their preferred courses. She is a magician!

Johnny consistently demonstrates professionalism, kindness, and respect to every student, colleague, and visitor he encounters on campus. He approaches every situation with a positive attitude. Whether responding to a routine request or assisting in a more urgent situation, Johnny is always willing to step in and offer support—no matter how big or small the need may be. He is dependable, ensuring that safety procedures are followed while also making people feel comfortable and welcome. Johnny’s dedication to service, commitment to safety, and genuine care for others make him an invaluable member of the NCSSM–Morganton community and truly deserving of this recognition.

I want to nominate Mrs. Pam Oxendine for this award, as she is truly deserving. She goes above and beyond not just for our department, but throughout the entire school. She takes initiative and is a wonderful addition to our counseling team. Pam is often the first person a student sees when visiting counseling; she has a motherly instinct, and many students seek her out for her kind nature and 'one-of-a-kind' hugs.
Her supportive nature comforts students and helps provide a sense of calm while they wait for appointments. She also takes the lead in organizing college fairs, assisting with PCCs, and onboarding our campus service and PCC staff.
Additionally, she tracks graduation statistics and college placements, among many other tasks for the department. Moreover, she manages the department budget, organizes individual campus visits, and coordinates special counseling programs. She is a light that shines throughout the counseling office and all of NCSSM! I highly recommend her for this award.
