The General Assembly was back in town this week to take up a voter ID bill. The constitutional amendment requiring a photo ID to vote did not set forth specifics about what IDs would be accepted, or if there would be any exceptions. Critics have been vocal about their concerns that the ID requirement would be particularly onerous to low-income and marginalized voters. Some critics worry that this amendment will disenfranchise voters in the 2020 election.
